Sapphire Fibres has proactively capitalized on its financial and operational strength to venture into the Building Materials Industry by setting up a state-of-the-art cement plant. Premier Cement – a subsidiary of Sapphire Fibres – is in the process to establish a greenfield cement plant with a capacity of 8500 tons/day of clinker in a small village called “Bilout” in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Plant negotiations are underway with world-renowned technology suppliers from Denmark, Germany, and China to ensure the acquisition of state-of-the-art plant equipment..
Progress
On 27th March 2017, three viable provisional mining concessions of Limestone for an area of about 7,500 acres in Bilout, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were granted to Premier Cement. Since then, Premier Cement has engaged an international consultancy firm – SRK Vancouver – to undertake mining operations and offer solutions from the exploration phase until mine closure. Premier Cement has extensively conducted mine investigations, Till date, 1500 meters have been drilled and 767 drill core samples have been collected which will be further tested and the results shall aid in creating a 3-D mine block model.
